Perfect lines

If you know me you know that I love geometric patterns and shapes. This year I started mixing a new glaze. This particular periwinkle blue glazes breaks beautifully over texture and has a dark coppery look over those textured spots. This assymetrical square vase has a Japanese inspired geometric pattern hand carved into it.

Due to the clean straight lines I wanted out of this vase I had to wait until the exact moment of leather hard-ness to both assemble the vase without any cracks and also carve the details into the piece. The timely nature of this piece was worth it in the end. This piece sold at the 2024 Lake Country Artwalk within the first 30 minutes of opening on the first day.
